Excitement as 10 artists get grants for new work

Ten local artists have been awarded grants of up to £5,000 to support their creativity, a charity has said.

ArtHouse Jersey said artists applying to create a comedy short film, debut album and a new play were among those successful in the latest round of its quarterly funding initiative.

Jersey-born artist and writer, Alexander Mourant, was awarded funding for skills development in metal work and screen printing techniques.

He said: "This funding will support exciting new research, materials and the opportunity to learn new techniques and processes."
